AITE 2014 Billboard project

Sinéad O'Donnell & Poshya Kakil will exhibit their collaborative photographic performance work made and locatied on the Iraqi/Iranian Kurdish border. The piece will be exhibited as part of the 'Art in the East Side Billboard Project, East Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The Art in the East Side Billboard Project is the largest outdoor visual arts exhibition in Ireland and includes work from local, national and international artists.
As part of the Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen’s programme, this dynamic public art project, celebrates the creative positive energy of East Belfast, through the use of high-quality visual art, on Billboards and installations in public spaces. Collectively, it creates an outdoor gallery of positive and thought-provoking images. Viewed by over 400,000 commuters, visitors and residents, Art in The Eastside is for many, an introduction to visual art. It is by its very nature accessible, presenting high-quality visual across the East of the city, adding colour, vibrancy to the urban landscape.
This years open submission process was the most successful ever, with over 500 images being submitted by local national and international artists, to our open call.
Due to billboard cycles, the actual images will be in place in and around the 16th of October until in and around the 1st of November 2014.
Art in the East Side is a Creative Exchange Artist Studios project, funded by the Arts Council of NI, Belfast City Council, Lloyds TSB and Comic Relief.
