headspace : white cube

Sinéad O'Donnell
Headspace: White cube
This is the 1st piece in a series of explorations and experiments into notions of headspace.
'Headspace: White Cube is a performance sculpture that segregates the artist in the “white cube” environment that has come to epitomise the contemporary art world. With her head literally ensconced in a small, white cube suspended from the ceiling, O’Donnell’s work mirrors the segregation between viewer and gallery', Sarah McAvera, Golden Thread Gallery.
Supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland 'Support for the Indivigual Artist Award' and Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast, Northern Ireland. This piece was performed at the SCOPE international contemporary art fair, New York, U.S.A, March, 2014. Video commissioned by 'Live Art Development Agency' for 'talking heads' series part of 'Access to all areas: Live art & disability' New York.
